May 17, 2018: Jill adding the nuc to our hive.

Saving bees one backyard at a time
Jill picked up our Bee Nuc. A Nuc is a starter colony consisting of 4-5 frames of bees, brood and honey in a cardboard box. Each frame is added to the new hive, with additional empty frames to create the new colony.
We built a hive stand in the back of the yard and prepare the brood boc for our first colonies of bees.
On May 6th, 2018 we got our first hive. It was a FlowHive and little did we know that was not the right choice for us. From what I know now, the only thing I can say is that getting this hive got us totally interested in beekeeping.
